Last Hikes on São Miguel

Ruth: As we wait in the airport for our flights to Toronto we are already planning our next trip to the Azores. Gord is plotting roads and trails to circumnavigate São Miguel on foot as I check out the bike options. Of course we are coming back! For one thing we have never been to Corvu and barely explored Terceira and Flores.
We used the car to access another hike on the rim of Sete Cidades. Even after two months in the Azores we are still hit with the jaw dropping beauty of this region in Atlantic. The greens and blues are too intense for me to capture with my watercolour palette. They contrast beautifully with the black and red lava layers in the cliffs. 
This morning we made our last walk along the sea before saying goodbye to our holiday cats.
